Google+ Invites You to Come on Board - Should You Jump?

google+ invites you

Google plus entered the social media hemisphere recently and you couldn’t escape the consistent coverage in the tech space, each portal proclaiming its praises and making associated projections as to its longevity in the market. While the new platform is still “testing the waters” within the ocean of social media possibilities, it does offer some tools and perks that can make your social interactions much more pleasant.

Google + Uses Circles to Refine Your Audience

The primary stand apart feature in this platform is the Google+ Circle format for communicating with friends. With Google+ users assign every contact to a Circle. While initially this may seem tedious, the payoff is completely worth it.  Once Circles are organized, users will relish the new privacy they can enjoy. Circles enable users to enjoy discriminating social interchanges. You decide at each instance with whom you wish to share your thoughts, and you determine whose thoughts you are most interested in hearing on a subject. Google+ has hit a home run by creating a media that allows you to make your social Internet exchanges far more meaningful and personal.

Google+ Offers Innovative Social Experiences

Google+ also offers some innovative and distinctive social interactions that don’t really have a counterpart in other places. One such feature is called Hangouts, which permits users to meet up with friends in an online group and watch video-based media together.  This tool allows you to watch YouTube videos (for example) with your friends rather than sending them the link for them to view on their own.

Google+ Eliminates Bothersome Alerts

Maybe you didn’t realize you were holding your breath when you posted on other social networks, but every one of us has muffled a groan when, after politely “liking” or commenting on someone’s photo or wall post, we are treated to the endless comments of a zillion other people – most of whom we do not know.  Google+ makes it possible for users to “mute” all of those vaguely irritating messages.  Google+ users can comment without fear of an alert watershed.  See how much you didn’t know you were missing?

Google+ Gives You a New View of YOU

For those who are ready to escape the overexposure of other places, Google+ offers a terrific tool that allows users to see their own profile from other users’ vantage point.  This tool works like a ‘double check’  by allowing the user to verify that comments are really hidden or that certain ‘friends’ are not exposed to every post.  The user can see their page just as someone else would view it.

Google+  Widens the Door for Your Communication

Users of Google+ enjoy another freedom that they may or may not have realized was missing in their previous social interactions.  That is the freedom to use as many characters as they require to fully express their thoughts and musings.  Other social media outlets limit the number of characters available in a single comment or post.  Limitless is better, right?

Google+  has provided an escape from the world of oversharing while sweetening the pie with unique and enjoyable features.  Once users experience the difference, it is hard to imagine they won’t want to stay.
